yes, it is a death..
to all of these things and so much more. it is the death of hopes and dreams, vacations and memories.. beauty, wildlife, and places of tranquility and healing.
our children and their children will not know the beauty we have seen before this disaster- all in the name of money. accidents do happen but when greed is behind it, it is no longer an accident but a result of greed. it's sinful. it's SO sad.
well, i am not in any position to publically protest all that is wrong with this oil spill... however, i have 2 vehicles... and my protest will be done quietly, purposefully, and with prayer by no longer EVER NEVER purchasing my fuel from:
it's the most i can do in my little corner of the world, it is my mission to make a difference. if anyone else wants to make a personal protest, feel free to do the same. even one candle casts a light in the dark.

yup it does...it was my favorite place too for gas, now i wont get it there either....and jin said it finally showed up on their beach...right there in their yard!! i cant believe it! ruined where they go every day will little moo. you can see her pics, she posted picnics just a day or two before tarballs showed up! PISSES ME OFF!! now they have to drive over an hour away to go to the beach, then the dont know if that one will eventually be effected later either. THOSE MEANIES!!!
it is really sad indeed and I don't see an end in sight any time soon. I don't think we have BP stations here, but they definitely would not get my business if we did

This is a tragedy for us all.
The bad thing...Not only did BP NOT have a plan in place for a disater, but NONE of the oil companies did. It could have been any of them C.
Really...it was never a thought.
We will all suffer.
yes suz, everyone, you are all right. the oil companies, ALL OF THEM dont even have an emergency plan in case summit like dis happens. and the president wanted to begin more off shore oil drilling to supply our own resources... i dont ever hear of oil spills in saudi... so how come? are their rigs safer or whats the deal?
the engineer guy they interviewed who survived the explosion of this disaster said they knew about it in advance. there is a rubber gasket that seals the hole where they are drilling. they were getting chunks of rubber in the oil weeks before the explosion. PLUS....they have two computers....TWO!!! they control the opening and closing of the oil pump. one is a back up, just in case...well, the back up was broke, so what did they do? they INCREASED production people....yup...increased it, with a faulty seal on the gasket, knowing they were losing money....trying to make up for their losses. and you saw the results....all in the name of greed and money....yup...all the people died on board except for this engineer, he jumped off minutes before. he told all after it was said and done. but too little too late if you ask me.
Two thumbs up... if everyone boycotted BP, they'd be forced out of business, the fuckers :(
Absolute travesty. In the first few weeks, I found myself just numb.... vacillating from "you've-got-to-be-kidding-me-THIS-is-their-PLAN?" to.... "oh-my-gosh-the-beaches-will-never-recover"...
Either way, it is tragic.
All we can do is pray that God and the amazing world he gave us will somehow, some way (over many many decades) heal itself....
(AND that he won't visit his wrath upon us humans for collectively crapping upon his masterpiece....)
