as time goes by....

life does move along, doesn't it... my youngest kiddo Christopher will be a senior this week when he goes back to school. i am more than flabbergasted on how quickly my life is going by. i am very proud of all my kidlets and Christopher is no exception. he speaks more fluent french than i do and i was raised speaking french as my mom was from Quebec City, Canada. from 7th grade on he would read a french dictionary for fun and memorise it. this is the son that also taught himself how to play the alto sax first, and now the bassoon. he even makes his own reeds for it. he not only plays in the school band, he has done marching band all through high school, jazz band, concert band, now is in pit orchestra, and also plays with the Omaha Youth Orchestra, which will hopefully get his foot in the door for college next year.. needless to say he is very good at his craft. [sorry, yes i know i am bragging]. i just cant believe he is a senior. i can still see him running around in his lil diapers with chubby lil hands and feet, running to me with arms outstretched.... mama, mama.... god how i miss those days. i will never again experience anything so pure as when my kids were little and needed me. i soaked it up and treasured every moment as if i were a dehydrated sponge in search of water.

Christopher, Alexander, Emily, and Nicholas are the best things i will ever do in my life. they are the best of their dad and i, and we will never ever do better than that in this lifetime.
crp
P.S.
now i can say.... hey Christopher-
remember that time in band camp....?
lmao

What a handsome devil! I can see why you're so very proud of him.

You are and will always be their mama, no matter their age, and they will always need you :-)

Heck I'm 39 and still love and need my mom as much as ever, although more as a friend and a guide than one who makes me lunch and puts a band-aid on my knee.

Lovely post, your son is a very gifted young man, indeed!

Liv was in youth orchestra for one year but has shown no interest in doing it again and that disappoints me.

isn't it an awesome thing to be a momma who can be proud enough of their kids to want to brag about them? Some mommas don't have that blessing.... :) I feel the same way you do about mine :)
