…update on my sister Jo’s MIL, Pat. she was transferred home from the hospital on Monday afternoon. Jo had everything delivered and comfy cozy for her arrival.. such as the bed, oxygen, porta potty… the hospice nurse was there, as well as Jo and her husband, Jim. the first and only time they got her up to go potty, she collapsed to the floor, probably hypotensive, and Jim, the nurse, and Jo couldn’t get her back into bed. so the nurse was required to call 911. the paramedics returned her to bed for them. Joanne went to the drugstore to get her scripts filled and Jim called her there to tell her she needed to get home A.S.A.P. because Pat took her last breath. she was only home for 2 hours and passed peacefully away. for those of us who believe, she is with the love of her life now, they are both healthy, together, and at peace. they were together for 57 years. it seems to me Pat just didn’t want to remain here in this world, and needed to be with her best friend-husband. love endures all things and sometimes, just sometimes, one cannot survive without the other. this is what I believe and it brings my heart peace to look at it that particular way. Jo’s husband is beside himself with grief, as he just lost his dad 2 months ago. they’ve decided to wait on a memorial/funeral. she will be cremated then buried next to her beloved. Jo says Jim is too fragile to go through another funeral right now. it’s ok, we don’t need the fancy smancy stuff to acknowledge our love and appreciation for our loved ones. Pat KNEW she was loved. She is the one who treated me like a princess when I went to visit Jo last fall. she was such a dear, sweet heart. and I am so glad I was able to tell her how much it meant to me when I last saw her.
if you love somebody, no matter if it’s family or friends… TELL THEM. don’t let the day end before you have made peace with those you love. I say that but am guilty myself for not doing it with everyone. some people just aren't open to accept my feelings, so I’ve written them in emails. that will do me until I can work on those particular relationships. please keep Jim & Joanne in your prayers as they are filled with grief and sadness, and are still in shock. thank you to all.
on another note, I still haven't found a job. I do however have a phone interview Thursday morning. we’ll see where it goes. it’s a case manager position for United Healthcare. I’m just going with the flow and trusting that I will be led to something good, because I deserve it. (boostin me own confidence there)..
if any of you watch the news, you may have possibly seen the status of eastern Nebraska, and all the flooding we have. luckily we are not in a possible flood neighborhood, although we are down the road from the Missouri river. but it would have to go up a good sized hill to reach us. the river hasn’t crested yet. it’s supposed to crest sometime this summer. there is still a ton of snow melting up north, and a levy about an hour north from us is dumping not only waste materials into the river, but they are also releasing waters from the levy’s. the Missouri is a dangerous river any how. you cant swim in it, just boating is allowed. at the moment, it’s closed. it is just a few feet away from destroying a small town south of us called Hamburg. in (old towne) Bellevue where we live, some people had homes on the river front, sadly they have been wiped out and have lost everything. I have seen the devastation flooding can cause on the news, but having it happen so close to home, is scary.
Diane and I were talking as we drove around town checking on the flooded areas, and we were saying how all the natural disasters mother nature has been playin’ at, appear to be signs that have been predicted to occur prior to the end of times. we pass it off as just gossip, but secretly there is a part of us that wonders if that is what is happening. all the tornados, devastating earthquakes, flooding, fires like in Arizona, fighting in the middle east over land and religion… these are supposedly the signs which will occur at the end of time. and with 12/21/2012 and the predictions made about that date, it’s all pretty freaky if you ask me. maybe it wont be the end of the world but definitely something will happen on that date in time, as the planets are predicted by scientists to align themselves in a position that hasn’t occurred in 26,000 years. it’s just summit to think about. no one really knows until it happens. any opinions out there? I wont laugh, promise.
but if I do, you wont see me…

I have been thinking about Jo and her family...Mama wanted to be with her bestie...yup.
I think all the floods and bad weather are signs that we are not treating our planet well!!!!! {global warming anyone?}
I hope you are doing well...

So sorry about your sister's heartache.

And yes, no worries in Dundee about flooding either...but still...so very close, yes?

I believe as you do, that your sister's MIL & FIL have now been reunited. I hope her husband can find some peace in that.
Stay safe! xo
