“unJustified sadNess in ariZona”
..in the wake of the shooting of congresswoman Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, the youngest victim that day was 9 yr. old Christina Taylor Green, born Sept. 11, 2001.. just a few hours after the attack on our nation.
..she is survived by 11 yr. old brother Dallas and their parents. born on the day of the worst tragedy in America, she was seen by her family as a new hope for the future and was always interested in making a difference in the world. she was elected president of her school student council and went to the rally Mrs. Giffords was having, in hopes of meeting her, one of her many idols. sadly she was killed when the shooter opened fire at the rally..
..Christina and the other victims who died..
..the Obama’s attended her funeral and the president’s speech was very moving.. it sounded very heartfelt and sincere to me.. made me cry. I’m sure they could relate as their youngest daughter Sasha is the same age as Christina..
..because Christina was born on 9/11, the flag that was found in the Twin Towers rumble was hung for her funeral. what a touching honor. this made me cry, too. ok, OK! it ALL made me cry..
..people dressed as angels lined the funeral route to the church..
..her parents and brother at the funeral..
..the choir she belonged to sang her favorite songs..
..and her elementary school is decorated with grief filled mementos in her honor, from the community as well as students..
if you care to read more on this story you may go heRe.
..I know that children die on a daily basis from accidents and illnesses and abuses.. there will always be little heroes that some of us are privileged to know yet they will go unnoticed in the public eye when they die..
..but that doesn’t mean they are less important or that one death is sadder or more tragic than another, because they are not. each loss is a tragedy in and of itself whether there is public recognition or not..
..people not in the public eye do not grieve any less. it just means the murder of some children attract more attention than others, such as this story has..
my point is this.. it makes me so very sad to hear about things like this, I think one of life’s worst tragedies would be to have to bury your child. so in honor of Christina, a little girl with so much potential to make a difference in this world, and to
E.V.E.R.Y. S.I.N.G.L.E.
C.H.I.L.D.
who has died and will die by other causes, I honor all of you. God bless your little hearts and the very sad families you leave behind. I don’t know where we go from here when we die, but someday I hope and pray we can all be together in a place void of this kind of pain and destruction.. and we can all hear your laughter once again.

So sad indeed chris. Lovely tribute.
What a terrible tragedy, indeed... it brings me to tears to lose a chicken, I cannot imagine what it would be like to lose a child. holy mother of god, the pain.
Those angels make me cry...mostly because they are volunteers who do this to make a shield with their wings so that the Westboro clan will not be able to be so evident. They had been threatening to picket. I have no idea why since this little girl had nothing to do with anything they protest.
I cried, too at the president's speech. I think all parents did.
A lovely tribute. Too sad for words.
