i finally received the results of my labs which were taken Friday... everything looked ok except for my hemoglobin, which was 8. normal for women is 12-15.

yeah. i have been running between 7 and 8. I've already had one blood transfusion a cuppla weeks ago, may need another.

for the last several weeks i have had increasing itchiness on my skin all over my body, but there is no rash. i have been short of breath intermittently, can't sleep.. it's been like having a really bad mosquito bite over my entire body.

i am using an old hairbrush to itch myself. because i couldn't get a good grip on the sandpaper and the friction nearly ignited a fire.. don't laugh. it works.

it wears me out because there is alot of me.. and i can only scratch in increments... afterwards i look spent, collapsing in the chair to rest up for more cat-scratch-fever. Diane laughs gets a giggle out of it but she is going to be beaten our room for the day. that'll teach her..

to make a long complaint short.. it's the anemia. but i am taking iron and Benadryl... going grocery shopping later for iron enriched foods, and i am awaiting my doc's call as we speak.

i wont eat animal livers, gizzards, kidneys, hearts... (gags) but i will eat prunes, iron enriched cereals, green leafy veggies... and some of Julian's transformers for snacks...

hopefully the itching and bitching will subside over the course of the next few days... because if it doesn't, i will not only go craZy.. i will unzip this birthday suit and get another one because I CAN'T STAND THE ITCHING!

Anemia is just awful - of course you've been so tired. The iron will help a lot & I hope it will for you soon. No more itching! :)

I'm very happy everything else came out ok. You have enough to deal with already.

You poor thing...I had no idea this could happen.
You did crack me up though; if only making peeps laugh kept you healthy.
Have you thought about eating the Iron Giant? How about messing around with IRon Man??
Feel better soon...

well that's a possible diagnosis for some peeps in my family. they are a coupla itchies too and i wonder if it could be anaemia? i will tell them to get checked out.

hope you don't wear that hairbrush out.

One of my IRL friends is battling the exact same thing right now.

Maybe you could try liver shakes? Blend liver with ice cream and fruit and you'll hardly even know it's there.

At least it's something you can fix and control, so that's good news!

I buy these liquid vials of iron supplements for women at the drugstore, 14mg per serving once a day... works like a charm.

I can't imagine itching all over like that, poor sweetie! Maybe cover yourself in catnip and get a few cats? LOL!
