Graduation!

it's been a few days since i posted, well maybe a week..... but i do have reasons. my son Alex graduated from high school Saturday and my nephew Charlie graduated on Sunday night. as you can imagine, it was very busy around here, specially when we were having a party for Alex all day Saturday into the evening. Diane and i prepared food all day Friday, and that's after mega shopping Thursday, plus me working. we were exhausted but like the Duracell bunny, we just kept on goin.... [yes our eyes became glazed over as the drool hung from the corner of our mouths and we began operating like robots] but the day went smoothly and everyone had a great time. David even stopped by for a half hour. said he was on a time limit by Sharon his wife, who of course wouldn't come here with him. however, they were at the ceremony and all i cared about was that he showed up for Alex. [i will include Alex and David's picture at the end]. [where one of them belongs hahaha]. there was a moment in the kitchen when Dave said to me "Christine, look i got my new teeth" [dentures] to which i replied "hey look Dave, i got my original teeth" bwahahahaa i was proud of my reply.... we had a good turn out for the party and the food was D-lish. what did we have, you ask? awww how sweet of you to want to know.... Diane and i made Indian tandoori chicken, Thai, and BBQ chicken kabobs [or as we call them kaboobs], salads, naan bread, sides of all kinds, and a dairy queen Oreo blizzard cake for desert. the party started at noon and lasted until midnight. it wasn't warm enough to swim, however Alex did get thrown in the pool..... twice. heehee i have pics of that but not downloaded yet. so i will add them later just for your enjoyment.... some of us ended up doing karaoke in the living room, whilst others gathered around the island in the kitchen goofing off with Alex. i have other good news as well. my youngest sister Joanne, [my lil irish thots] will be coming for a week from North Carolina whilst our brother is here from Texas, for him and Denise's 50th b-day bash [they're twins]... it will be the first time in about 10 years the 4 of us siblings will all be together.

as i reflect on the sweet memories i have of watching Alex grow up, i know in my heart that i have been truly blessed with the gift of motherhood x 4, and nothing else i ever accomplish will ever be more full filling, more rewarding, or more emotional than that. my children are the best thing i will ever do in this world.

PS
his school colors are purple and white, i don't know why they look blue here. they are the color of ink i used.

Sounds like a rip-roarin' time! Grads are such a proud parent moment, aren't they? And the kaboobs sound yummy. Made with chicken breasts, I'm guessing. ;O)
