hi there peeps... me and my rack are back, jack..

"what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger."

i felt all gushy inside when i read all the well wishes and prayers from all of you when i was in the hospital. i love you guys. thank you from the bottom of my newly stented heart. and i mean that.

i am glad the wife kept you updated. bless her lil lonely heart, she couldn't sleep without me home.

aside from a sore right groin that is achy, i feel ok. a lil tired. i cant do much for the next week. and i am SO grateful i wont have to split up the girls.. they've nevah known life with out the other in it...

i can honestly say i was so scared Wednesday after the news, that my teeth were chattering. then- i took an Ativan the doc gave me and just slipped into a peaceful bliss of je ne c'est pas and put my trust in God, that everything happens for a reason. i figured if it was my time to die, that treadmill would of taken me out. i am amazed at how calm i remained the morning of the procedure and how POOOOF i fell asleep and like 2 seconds later woke up, all done. its the magic of Versed.

several of my close friends, family, and peeps that i worked with on the unit, came by to see me. i had the nicest, best nurses ever. i felt embraced.

i have to take a medication called Plavix to keep my stent from clotting, that costs $40.00 per pill, once a day. there is no way i can afford that. a nurse from cardio came in to see me with a 40 day supply of samples of Plavix and then asked me if i would be interested in being in a research study for 30 months. i would be given FREE Plavix throughout, just to partake in the study! and i can drop out anytime. i have to be on the Plavix for a year.. thank you, GOD. t'was HE that arranged that.

i had time to do alot of soul searching thinking whilst i was there. i plan on making some healthy life changes to the best of my ability. i thank God i found this new doc who ordered the stress echo that found my heart blocks and allowed the stent to be placed so i wouldn't have to have open heart surgery and put a zipper in me cleavage. they couldn't get to the other blockage but it isn't as bad as the one they stented.

oh! did i tell you the echo also showed i have mild atrial valve stenosis, which means someday way down the road i may have to have it replaced? yep. i could be facing more heart repairs in time.

well, i am sure you are all bored to the billiards with stuff about my heart so i will change the subject. oh, one more thing... it comforted me greatly to hear Diane tell me i had so many well wishes on here after she posted for me.

thank you.

in other news, our friends Rob and Cheryl are putting on a huge 4th of July celebration Sunday because it's also Rob's birffday. they are buying all of the food, Diane will cook, and i will relax. i hope the weather holds out, it's supposed to rain.. but we will just move the party inside if it does. that is SO nice of them! and i will be surrounded with much love.

well, i am sleepy now and will go rest. have a great weekend!

good news indeed. Welcome home and happy 4th of July for tomorrow. It will be a special celebration for you all.
It bothers me that those pills are so expensive. What would happen if you hadn't got a free sample or become part of the study? Where would you be then??
Take care,
:-))

YAY!!! I'm so relieved to see you doing so well. I didn't expect a post so quickly from you. :)

Thank God, indeed, for the medical study, and the samples.

Have fun at your Birfday/4th of July party. Wish I could crash it, but I'm afraid you'd make me look at your incision! ;-)

Love you, my friend!

Glad you're back and doing well. You take care of that sore groin.

I am so happy you are on your way to good health again. (well, lets not forget about your gimpy arm)
You were blessed with a wonderful DR and then you getting in on this med. study? awesome. See, good things can happen to good peeps.
Rest up as much as you can, and enjoy your 4th of July celebration too.

so thankful to God for meeting your needs by you getting into that Plavix study. And you are right, you do need to stay on it for a year following stenting, so I definitely think this is a godsend. And it will help too because I'm sure they will be monitoring you during the research study so they'll keep a good eye on you!! your doctor does indeed sound like a gem; I'm glad he did the test and caught the blockage and the aortic valve problem too. He seems like he is on top of things which is great!

the celebration tomorrow sounds just like what a doctor might order after the ordeal you've been through. sounds like it will be lots of fun with special people in your life. I hope the weather holds and you all have a great time celebrating your friend's birthday and our country's birthday!

take care of yourself and make sure you do follow what the doctor is wanting you to do!

I'm so glad to read your update... and that is WONDERFUL news about that study you get to participate in! Free pharmaceuticals are AMAZING!!! (My migraine meds are crazy expensive, so I understand... if we didn't have insurance I wouldn't be able to afford them, and I'm on 2 different kinds.)

I'm glad you also had some "quiet time" to center in, talk to God, etc. Good for the soul, yes?

This is all REALLY GOOD NEWS!
