here i am in the wee hours of the morning- wide awake as usual.

 *DEEP SIGH*

i found a pamphlet to apply for financial assistance for healthcare benefits at the hospital after PT the other day. i called yesterday, had to fax proof of income, and now am awaiting a call to see if i qualify. if so, i can get a new Dr. then see him... then get the medical attention i so desperately need.. and refill my medications. that's IF i qualify. i haven't for any other low income resources or health clinics but i am hoping this one will help me. i will let you know as soon as i do.

in other news, we had my sister and her MIL for dinner tonight then played pinochle. [card game]. i made some PAD THAI with chicken and it turned out D-lish... i added some freshly picked Italian parsley that we grow which has a hint of lemon to it's taste, and it really added flavor to my recipe. i also made some roasted sweet potatoes cut like fries in the oven and before serving, drizzled tamarind sauce over them to accompany the pad Thai. it was finger lickin goooood! yesseree bOb...

i ab-sO-lOOtly LERVE to cook. making then feeding people a meal makes my soul take a flight around the mOOn, peeps.. yep- right around the mOOn.

and since i am mentioning the moon, i might as well mention the sun.

there's a rumor going around that the world is supposed to come to an end on 12/21/2012.. as that is the end of the Mayan calendar... remember? well, some of the signs that predict the approaching "eNd" are predicted according to the book of revelations, the predictions of Nostradamus, and the ancient Mayans.

there are supposed to be severe changes in weather [such as erupting volcanoes, massive storms, hot where it used to be cold and cold where it used to be hot.. earthquakes, "a black monster coming from the ocean" erm, does OIL SPILL ring a bell... brother rising against brother- umm, hEllO! and the increased production of solar storms which you can read about hErE just to name a few.

and there are so many more. now i have been jokingly making comments about how we are all going to die on  12/21/2012... in JEST.. until i read the article mentioned above and my blood went cold in my veins. so my question is- are we all trying to plead denial to avoid the fear, or should we be taking these warning signs more seriously?

i know it sounds silly and scary to even discuss it but i admit i am slightly fearful. things ARE happening everyday all around us that are pretty darn identical similar to what the prophets predict are supposed to occur. just think about it. am i the only one a little freaked out about this? i don't want to dwell on it and i cant predict if it is going to happen or not so whattya do when new information about imminent phenomenon is in the making?

just askin..

things that make ya go hmmmmmm?

hey lady..i'm back and i hope you come to my blog for a cool giveaway before the world ends!!! :)

seriously though, i never could stand all the 'end of the world' stuff and all the prophesy shows, and i got suckered into going to see 2012 and i sat there nearly the entire time, crying into my popcorn...i am not kidding. i don't want this world to be gone, i love it..but, all good things must come to an end, and if Earth can no longer stand all the injustice, pain, suffering and other stuff that goes on, then it's only natural for her to do an exfoliation of her surface and just want to start over...

the only reason i'm not freaking out anymore about the end of the world is because i made a decision back in February to give my life to Jesus. sounds corny, and i'm sure some will make fun of me, but i know exactly where i'm going as soon as Earth decideds to throw us all off...i'm shooting straight up into heaven into my loving Father's arms.... :)

**sidenote, I never even pictured till you mentioned it, the black monster from the sea being that hideous oil gusher that has no end in sight...creeeeeeeeepy, but it firs, doesn't it??

hope you can qualify for that program to get the help you need with your health

your dinner and evening with your sister/MIL sounded like a lot of fun!! wished I lived closer so you could teach me how to play pinochle. Love card games, but no one else does in my family (well my mom did, but she passed on a few years ago). Anyway, those fries really did sound very good!

imagine if your birthday (mine) was on 12/21 and the world ends on it. Actually, I don't worry too much about it because of Jesus, I know where I will spend eternity after the world destructs. But I seriously don't think it is going to happen on 12/21/2012 because the Bible says no one but the Father knows when it will happen.

hoping you managed to get some sleep sometime last night

enjoy the weekend :)

Jason, as himself said...

Just eat your pad Thai and don't worry. I think this whole prophesy stuff is a bunch of mumbo jumbo!

Stud and his friends have been talking about this for a while because they graduate in 2012. Since they graduate in May, I guess they're ok with it. ;-)

You know, the more I read your blog, the more I think we are Kindred Spirits. I TOO have insomnia and am frequently in the middle of the night STARING at the ceiling, thinking: "...bad late night TV, blogging, or reading.... which shall it be TONIGHT??" Sigh.

Yummmmmm.... Pad Thai. Be STILL my beating heart! How far is the drive from Atlanta to Nebraska if I leave right now???
:)

Now, as far as the 2012 thing, here is my take on it:
1) think of ALL the crazy Cookie Monsters that have prophesied the end of the earth.... and it has never happened.
2) HOWEVER, the Bible does talk clearly (not only in Revelation but in other books that discuss the signs that will precede the end of the earth) of the following: earthquakes, foaming seas (i.e. tsunamis), wars, famine, etc. We are seeing BIG increases in all of those. This is real.
3) HOWEVER, the Bible also tells us not to worry. Worry is a truly useless emotion. If one is at peace with God... there is nothing to fear. Really.

And that, my friend, is my little mini dissertation on the subject.

Over and out. :)
